Brightcove MCP is here. Bring Brightcove into the AI tools you already use

Nov 3, 2026

With Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, you can now connect Brightcove with the AI tools your business already uses, streamlining workflows.

Brightcove MCP is here. Bring Brightcove into the AI tools you already use

The way we interact with software is changing.

Increasingly, we're asking AI to make sense of information, connect systems and help us get work done, rather than moving between applications and figuring out each step ourselves.

That raises an interesting question for a platform like Brightcove: what happens when video becomes part of that conversation?

Today, we're introducing Brightcove's Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, giving AI applications a standardized way to connect with Brightcove and work with its capabilities.

In other words, you don't always have to come to Brightcove to work with Brightcove. You can bring Brightcove into the AI workflows you already use.

Bring Brightcove into broader AI workflows

Consider a simple question: “Which of our videos are performing best this month?”

An AI assistant connected to Brightcove can answer it using your video data. But once Brightcove is connected to the other systems around your content, the question can become much more useful: “Compare our video performance with our campaign results and tell me which content we should prioritize next.”

Now AI can bring together video performance, audience information, campaign data and other business context to identify an opportunity and, where appropriate, use Brightcove capabilities to act on it. The same could apply to localization, combining content and audience data to identify where localized video could have the greatest impact and then bringing the relevant Brightcove workflows into the process.

The value isn't simply giving AI access to more data. It's giving it the context and capabilities to turn that information into action.

Meet your AI where you already work

We don't expect every customer to use AI in the same way.

Some teams are building their own AI workflows. Others are using AI applications that have already become part of their daily work. A developer might want to build directly with Brightcove's capabilities, while a marketer or content manager may simply want to ask an AI assistant a question and get useful work done.

MCP gives these different experiences a common foundation.

You can continue managing your video directly in Brightcove, while also making Brightcove capabilities available wherever AI makes sense for your organization. For developers, that opens up new ways to build with Brightcove. For everyone else, the technical work can stay underneath the experience: you work in the AI environment you're already comfortable with, while Brightcove provides the video capabilities behind it.

Built on the Brightcove platform

MCP works because Brightcove already has a broad API foundation.

Our APIs give applications access to the capabilities teams use to manage video, content, metadata, analytics and more. MCP provides a standardized way for AI applications to interact with that foundation.

We're not creating a separate version of Brightcove for AI. We're making the capabilities already available through our platform accessible in a way that fits naturally into the growing AI ecosystem.

That means Brightcove can become part of workflows that span multiple systems, bringing video into conversations and processes that previously happened somewhere else.

The technology underneath is sophisticated, while the experience can be simple.

From AI inside Brightcove to Brightcove inside AI

MCP builds on the same idea behind Agentic Hub.

With Agentic Hub, we brought AI into Brightcove, giving customers a natural way to work with the capabilities of the platform. With MCP, we're taking that idea a step further: Brightcove can now meet customers in the AI environments they already use.

That's important because AI isn't limited to one department or one type of user. It's becoming part of how marketers, content teams, communicators, analysts, developers and business teams work every day.

We want video to be part of that work, too.

Brightcove already gives teams the power to do more with video. MCP gives them another way to put that power to work.

Brightcove MCP is now available, giving customers a new way to connect their video platform with the AI workflows that matter to them.
