It's not every day you have the opportunity to watch the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) from the comfort of your own living room. In fact, you never really have that opportunity. But, tonight, for the first time, the CSO will offer a free live stream of a performance, "A Live Celebration of Verdi's 200th Birthday." The CSO is relying upon Brightcove Video Cloud Live to deliver the high-quality live stream to eager viewers on the platform and device of their choosing.
The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. CDT (8:30 p.m. EDT). You can watch it live in the embedded player below, or via the CSO homepage.
The live stream is an exciting event designed to honor the life and achievements of Giuseppe Verdi, a revered Italian composer who was ultimately known as the "king of opera." Tonight's showcase is particularly special as CSO music director Ricardo Muti has been called "the greatest Verdi conductor of our time;" additionally, the piece that the orchestra will perform this evening earned both Maestro Muti and the CSO two Grammy awards in 2011. For opera lovers, this is a performance that cannot be missed!
We're thrilled to power the live stream technology behind the Verdi Requiem. We hope you'll tune in!
