Brightcove and Big Data: Jeff Whatcott to Present at Beet.TV Leadership Summit

Brightcove and Big Data: Jeff Whatcott to Present at Beet.TV Leadership Summit

The amount of data associated with video far surpasses the data generated by any other media type. Add to that digital media publishers' pressing need for insight and information that helps them to analyze the performance of their content and we have a "perfect storm" of data on our hands. Because we're at a tipping point in the "Big Data" revolution, the television and digital video industries are only just beginning to take advantage of the video analytics data at their disposal.

Because video data is tremendously relevant to publishers' monetization--and, ultimately, business strategy--decisions, Andy Plesser and the team at Beet.TV have organized the Leadership Summit at 30 Rock: Big Data Comes to TV and Digital Video. Our own Jeff Whatcott, Brightcove CMO, will speak at the event along with representatives from NBC News, the Nielsen Company, WPP, Digitas, Reuters, the New York Times and Ramp. Amongst other items, this group of industry experts will explore in panels and "fireside chats" the following topics:

  • Data’s influence on video search and optimization
  • Video’s integration with social marketing and where data fits in
  • Data and the evolution of dual-screen advertising

Specific details for the event include:
Date/Time: Tuesday, February 12, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Location: The NBC Cafe at 30 Rockefeller Center, New York, NY

Beet.TV will be capturing video of the sessions for publication and broader distribution. There is also limited opportunity to attend the event as an audience member; contact info@beet.tv for additional information.
