LG Electronics and Brightcove today announced a wide-ranging corporate partnership to expand online video distribution to the popular LG Netcast Smart TVs. The partnership will enable more than 2,700 Brightcove customers in 50 countries to extend the reach of their video initiatives to the living room, while giving consumers new levels of choice and control over news and entertainment programming through TV access highly popular on-demand online video content.
Under the terms of the deal announced today, Brightcove will introduce a series of tools and support resources to help media companies and brand marketers take advantage of the LG Smart TV platform, including a functionally complete reference application giving Brightcove customers an advanced starting point for creative immersive LG Smart TV video viewing experiences.
