We are very happy to announce a number of major milestones for Brightcove and share some exciting new leadership appointments.
Our continued focus on delivering wide-ranging online video innovations, at a pace and scale unparallelled in the industry, has resulted in a surge in new customer adoption around the globe. In the first six months of this year, Brightcove doubled the size of its customer based on more than 1,800 organizations, representing nearly every sector of industry and society.
While we continued to see rapid growth with the media industry with new customers such as the Financial Times, Virgin Media, Nikkei, Turner Broadcasting, Federated Media, EMI Group, and Werner Publishing, we also saw dramatic growth across e-commerce, marketing and in the enterprise with customers such as American Standard, Macy's, Electronic Arts, and D-Link Systems.
Brightcove's growth is happening on a global scale. In the past six months, Brightcove has opened new country headquarters in Spain and France with major customer wins, local partners and key country personnel. These moves build on Brightcove's success with existing operations in the UK and Germany. In Japan, where Brightcove launched operations just two years ago, the company has already surpassed more than 100 major customers, including many of the country's leading media businesses, brand marketers and e-commerce destinations.
Some of the product innovations Brightcove drove in the market in the first half of the year include:
- The first comprehensive HTML5 publishing and monetization solution; new Flash 10.1 mobile video opportunities; and broad support for native video apps for iOS and Android.
- Deeper and broader VAST 2.0 and VPAID support – contributing IP and driving adoption across the media sectors
- Major improvements to the quality of online video and speed of transcoding
- Exciting new enhancements to the Brightcove Experience Markup Language – the only of its kind in the industry – with Customer Player Themes
- Powerful solutions for authenticated TV Everywhere experiences; distribution to Internet-connected TVs, and deep support for integration with Facebook’s Open Graph.
And we're just getting started! As Brightcove President and COO, David Mendels, explains: "In the second half of the year, Brightcove will ramp nearly every part of its business, doubling down on new product enhancements while expanding infrastructure and support resources around the world. We’re laser focused on our customers’ success and our growth reflects that commitment.”
Looking to the future, Brightcove has made key leadership appointments to support the company’s next phase of growth and expansion
We are very excited to announce the appointment of Dennis Rose as Vice President of APAC for Brightcove. He will be responsible for expanding Brightcove in key markets throughout the region. Rose comes to Brightcove from Citrix Systems where he was general manager for the entire APAC region
