Feature of the Week: Localizing Player Messages

When you publish your videos on the World Wide Web, you want to make sure your player is ready for the whole wide world. Brightcove offers several alternatives for creating and configuring players so that the player labels and messages use the language of the page you publish them on:

  • You can select one of six languages for your player's labels with just a single click. Available languages are: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish. Read more.
  • You can create your own labels in an XML file in any language you choose and then use the Publishing module to point to this XML file. (Right-to-left languages are not currently supported.) Read more.
  • When Brightcove players are unable to load, whether because of geographic or domain restrictions, content unavailability, or otherwise, the page displays an appropriate error message. You can localize these player error messages by creating a simple XML file and then using a configuration parameter in the publishing code to point to the XML file. Read more.
