Last Thursday an eclectic mix of people attended The Spring Fever #Soxup Event at Fenway Park, which was the Boston booksigning event for Steve Garfield, author of Get Seen: Online Video Secrets to Building Your Business. Brightcove was proud to sponsor the event for good friend, Steve. We picked up 75 books for the event-- 70 books given away at the door for the first 70 people who came in and another 5 raffled off to lucky winners as part of the evening's festivities.
There were a mix of Brightcove customers, partners, fans and some folks who were getting to know Brightcove for the first time. We put together this video to give you a feel for the event and to let some folks share their thoughts on Brightcove:
We also gave away a handy bookmark to go along with the book (pictured here to the side), which we did in conjunction with the books' publisher, Wiley. We had a great quote from Jules Pieri (@julespieri) at Daily Grommet, who is a Brightcove customer. Thanks to Jules for the great quote and for Daily Grommet for letting us stick a video camera in their face at the event, which was the second day in a row I had done so. (Incidentlally, I had the chance to visit the headquarters of the Daily Grommet and speak with some of the brains behind the scene (and get some good video), which I'll be writing about shortly in a future post-- stay tuned).
Also, thanks to Tom Crawford (@kenthollow) from KnowledgeVision who appears in the video. KnowledgeVision is a Brightcove partner, who is using our product to sychronize video, presentations, and navigation all in one for an interactive video experience). It was also great to connect with a variety of other people at the event, such as Christine Major (from co-sponsor @awarenessinc, along with her colleagues @ashleyquincy, @naomimarr, @scottgfarrell), Jim Spencer (@fairminder), Derek Peplau (@peplau), Adam Cohen (@adamcohen), and others.
