We recently posted about the great work that our solution partner, Adjust Your Set, has done using the Brightcove platform to build new video-rich websites for leading retailers in the UK, including Thomas Pink. With the recent successful launch of Pink TV, which features a highly customized Brightcove player, Thomas Pink wanted to extend the reach of its video content beyond their website and into popular social networking sites like Facebook.
The team at Adjust Your Set was able to easily develop a syndicated Facebook player for Thomas Pink that also includes the unique sidebar feature and cue point functionality that enables viewers to buy products that are featured in the video. Now, when visitors to Pink TV watch a video, they are able to click on the Facebook icon and add the Brightcove Thomas Pink player straight into their Facebook news feed.
his is an especially exciting use case for Brightcove, as it comes on the heels of the introduction of Brightcove 4. Our latest platform release included new social sharing features for Facebook, as well as the ability to embed Brightcove players directly into pages and news feeds thanks to our unique "white-list" status by Facebook. Customers like Thomas Pink are also able to easily add "share to Facebook" links into their pages and embed Brightcove videos into Fan Pages.
