We are excited to announce two new partnerships today with TMZ, the Web’s #1 entertainment news site, and Buena Vista Television, the domestic television distribution division of The Walt Disney Company.
TMZ has adopted Brightcove Internet TV service to launch ad-supported Internet video channels on its extremely popular website TMZ.com, as well as a channel on Brightcove.com. TMZ is also using Brightcove syndication services to enable select news websites and blogs to embed TMZ Internet video channels on their sites, such as the Huffington Post.
Buena Vista Television has launched Internet video channels for popular programming and is using Brightcove syndication services to promote shows like "Live with Regis and Kelly," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and "Ebert & Roeper" on the websites of station affiliates across the country (see Brightcove/Buena Vista Television press release).
Both of the new partners have taken advantage of Brightcove to quickly bring to market a large volume of branded video content on a variety of destination sites. These blended distribution strategies have enabled TMZ and Buena Vista Television to expand the reach of their Internet video programming, while at the same time maintaining control over the quality of the video content and the brand experience associated with those online video properties.
Today the LA Times and TV Week have news stories that talk about the new partnerships with Brightcove: "Screening Shows on Other People's Sites" (LA Times) and "Online Tech Outfits Vie for TV Business" (TV Week).
