This is a philosophy I've seen behind many successful distribution strategies. I work closely with Brightcove's music customers and have witnessed (and can humbly say, contributed to) some very innovative distribution models. While there have been successes and failures, the best strategy is to diversify your distribution through a variety of channels: established portals, emerging apps & widgets, and other partners.

I may be the person at Brightcove most excited to see our new BEML (Brightcove Experience Markup Language) template architecture unveiled this week. BEML gives Pro & Enterprise customers not only complete flexibility over the layout and design of standard Brightcove elements (such as the video display and playlists) but also the ability to integrate third-party SWFs.
